Recordings in Zurich with works by Albert Moeschinger successfully completed
In cooperation with Radio SRF, we were able to record three string quartets by Albert Möschinger at the SRF Studio Zurich at the end of July. Our new CD will be released by the Naxos label. Albert Moeschinger is considered one of the most important Swiss composers of the 20th century. Born in Basel in 1897, Moeschinger came to Leipzig in 1920 to study composition. His 3rd string quartet was written in Munich in 1923, where he was studying with Walter Courvoisier. He composed his 5th string quartet (Colloqui) in Bern in 1940, but revised the work again in 1954. The third work is the funeral music for Hanny Bürgi. Further information on Albert Moeschinger can be found at www.albertmoeschinger.ch
